Immerse yourself in an evening of luminous reflection and transcendence, as Ex Urbe presents O Radiant Dawn. At the heart of the programme lies Tomás Luis de Victoria’s Missa Pro Defunctis a 6 (1605 Requiem) – a deeply meditative and timeless masterpiece.
Interwoven through the evening, solo piano works lead us through a journey from dawn to dusk, evoking shimmering light, shadowed moonlight, and the quiet mystery of the night. The journey is mirrored by the surrounding choral works which trace this arc: O Radiant Dawn by James MacMillan, Hymn to the Sun by Lili Boulanger, Stars by Ēriks Ešenvalds, and Sure on This Shining Night by Morten Lauridsen.
Join us for this exploration of light and time, where the majesty of the morning, the brilliance of day, and the security of night converge in an unforgettable meditation on life.
Two opportunities to experience this with us:
Saturday 10th May at 7 p.m. St Nicholas’ Church, Warwick
Sunday 11th May at 4 p.m. Dorridge Methodist Church

Bach to Bethlehem
We are excited to be celebrating Christmas after our Night at the Opera! This year we are drawing together some of the most beloved music for the Christmas season, anchored by the jubilant choruses from J S Bach’s Christmas Oratorio (I-III) and framed by classic carols and works from Gustav Holst and others. Each piece tells a part of the Nativity story, offering a rich tapestry of sound that celebrates both the sacred mystery and the joy of Christmas.
The date is Saturday 7th December at 6 p.m. and the place is the lovely Hampton Parish Church – we look forward to seeing you there!
